Meet Aloriea – Neuroblastoma Warrior!
“The NCCS is just as much a part of saving my daughter’s life as the extraordinary team of doctors who treat her…” Daniel, Aloriea’s dad.
When she was six years old, Aloriea was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma, a very aggressive childhood cancer. Aloriea’s mother passed away when she was only three so her father, Daniel, faced this alone. “We had gone through the standard protocol at our home hospital in Phoenix, AZ which included chemotherapy, surgery and stem cell transplant but still had a large amount of cancer all over her body,” said Daniel. After being told the doctors in Phoenix could not do anything else for Aloriea, her father discovered Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York was supposed to be the best in the world at treating her type of cancer. Aloriea immediately started treatment in NYC and has been traveling to Memorial Sloan Kettering with her father every 4-8 weeks for over three years to get the treatment she needs to survive. “Without the help of the NCCS we would have never been able to afford to get her to treatment. The NCCS is just as much a part of saving my daughter’s life as the extraordinary team of doctors who treat her. I will forever be indebted to you all. God bless you.”
