The National Children’s Cancer Society Announces 2019-2020 Scholarship Recipients

Another remarkable group of childhood cancer survivors have been awarded scholarships through The National Children’s Cancer Society’s (NCCS) Beyond the Cure Ambassador Scholarship Program. Representing schools across the country, the recipients continue to demonstrate the ability to overcome the difficult challenges of cancer with determination and motivation. Meet all of the 2019-2020 awardees.

“Announcing the new group of scholarship winners is one of the most exciting times of the year for us,” said Mark Stolze, president and CEO of NCCS. “We have known many of the recipients since they were very young and in the midst of their cancer battle,” he continued. “So, it’s wonderful to see them preparing to launch this exciting new chapter in their lives.”

The NCCS awards 58 scholarships annually with the generous support of The Centene Charitable Foundation and the Engelhardt Family Foundation. Scholarships are awarded to childhood cancer survivors under the age of 25 who were diagnosed with cancer before the age of 18. Students must be a United States citizen, live and attend school in the U.S. and must be accepted into a post-secondary school for the 2020 fall semester. The 2020-2021 applications will be available in January 2020.

Beyond the Cure Ambassador Scholarship awardees also give back to the childhood cancer community. Through the program, each student contributes 15 hours of community service for programs and activities—including mentorship of young children facing cancer—on behalf of the NCCS.

The NCCS is proud to congratulate this year’s recipients and wishes them all the best!
